Research Square and Wiley partner for trial of Video Abstracts for Wiley authors

Partnerships / Research Square News

Research Square is proud to announce a new trial with Wiley to make its Video Abstracts solution available to authors publishing in a select set of Wiley journals. As part of this pilot partnership, authors accepted at 20 Wiley journals, including Stem Cells, Journal of Biophotonics, and European Journal of Immunology, will have the option to purchase a Video Abstract to help share their research to a broad audience in an engaging multimedia format.

“With the increasing number of publications, we’re always interested in finding new ways to help authors broaden their audience and highlight the importance of their research results,” said Dr. Deric Corlew, Vice President of Business Development at Research Square. “Our Video Abstracts have proven very effective in increasing the visibility of new research, and Wiley’s deep commitment to a positive author experience made them an obvious choice for a partnership. We’re thrilled to support Wiley authors as they tell their research story to a global audience.”

Each Video Abstract combines a 3-4 minute animated video with voiceover that summarizes the key findings and implications of a research article in language that is accessible to both researchers and the public. The final video is freely accessible on YouTube and can be shared by the journal and authors on websites, in presentations, and more. “Researchers are at the center of scientific publishing, and they expect publishers to offer them exceptional services to help their work stand out” said Dr. Stefano Tonzani, Author Business Development Manager at Wiley. “Professionally crafted video abstracts, delivered in partnership with Research Square, are yet another way in which we help Wiley authors succeed.”

We’re delighted to be collaborating with Wiley to support authors in their efforts to share their research more broadly! You can download the full press release here.
